To receive calls from your Arlo Doorbell, you must install and log in to the Arlo Secure App on your mobile phone.
When a visitor presses your Arlo Doorbell button, your mobile phone receives a call that displays as Arlo Doorbell or your Arlo Doorbell name. You can accept or decline the call the same as you do for other calls.
To change Arlo Doorbell Call Settings:
For the Arlo Secure App experience with Feed:
- Launch the Arlo Secure App.
- Tap Devices.
- Select your Arlo Doorbell.
- Tap .
- Tap Call Settings.
- Tap the Phone Speaker switch to turn the speaker on your mobile phone on or off for Arlo Doorbell calls.
- Tap the Phone Microphone switch to mute or unmute the audio on your mobile phone when you answer Arlo Doorbell calls.
- Tap the Allow Messages to be Left switch to allow the visitor to leave an audio message if you decline or do not accept an Arlo Doorbell call.
Note: Audio messages will display in the Arlo Feed. The Allow Messages to be Left feature requires an Arlo Secure plan. To subscribe to an Arlo Secure plan, visit: Arlo Secure Plans
For the Arlo Secure App experience with Library:
- Launch the Arlo Secure App.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap My Devices.
- Select your Arlo Doorbell.
- Scroll down to the Doorbell Call section and tap Call Settings.
- Tap the Speaker switch to turn the speaker on your mobile phone on or off for Arlo Doorbell calls.
- Tap the Mute switch to mute or unmute the audio on your mobile phone when you answer Arlo Doorbell calls.
- Tap the Leave your message switch to allow the visitor to leave an audio message if you decline or do not accept an Arlo Doorbell call.
Note: Audio messages will display in the Arlo Library. The Leave your message feature requires an Arlo Secure plan. To subscribe to an Arlo Secure plan, visit: Arlo Secure Plans
To accept a call from your Arlo Doorbell:
- When you receive a call from your Arlo Doorbell, tap Accept or slide to answer on your mobile phone (the same as you do for other calls).
- If you are prompted to allow Arlo to access the camera, tap OK.
The incoming call page displays.
If you have an Arlo Video Doorbell or paired an Arlo Camera to your Arlo Audio Doorbell, live video is included. - To talk to the visitor, speak into your phone as you normally do.
- To toggle between hands-free and earpiece mode, tap the speaker button.
- To play a quick reply message, tap the message icon and select a message from the list.
- To mute yourself so that the visitor does not hear sound, tap the microphone button.
- When your call is finished, tap End or the End Call icon (the same as you do for other calls).
To decline a call from your Arlo Doorbell:
- When the Arlo Doorbell button is pressed, you will receive a call on your mobile phone from Arlo.
- Tap Decline.
- If you enabled the Allow Messages to be Left or Leave your Message feature, your visitor will be prompted to leave an audio message.
- The audio message will display in your Arlo Feed or Arlo Library.
